How to make a miniature fish

Here are the steps to make a simple miniature fish. I used to make fish facing left, this time try to make it face right. (it is different, try it yourself, to me, facing right is difficult)

1. Make the shape of a fish. (use orginal colour of Japanese clay)

2. colour the whole fish with light gry when it is completely dried.
( i use acrylic col and the coulor a bit dark)

3. Use black and silver to high-light the whole fish. Black
on the fins and silver on its body. You can add more silver
 to the body too.

4. Put the fish onto a plate add some chilli, anythings
you like. Finish it by putting high gloss.

Below are the miniature boxes I made recently. You can put your miniature pastry, biscuit or donuts into it/

On the cover of the box , I paste a  lovely Japanese doll ( I made it myself) to decorate the box. You can use hard board, A4 paper, Japanese paper or other paper materials to make the box.

Miniature cigarette

I don"t smoke so when someone ask me to custom made cigarette, I will ask those who has cigarette and let me take a look at them.

If you cannot recall any images that you want to make, go and look for them. this will help you a lot .

I tried to use paper to make the cigratte box but I failed as it is too small and doesn't look good after folding all the edges. so  I used clay to make it. The miniature lighter beside it looks real when you add a small piece of aluminium onto it.

Miniature Fish

When I first time try to make a miniature fish, I really have some difficults to sharp the shape. It looks easy but when you really try you will find it...... hmmm not so easy.
But when you try 2 to 3 times , you will get the right shape of a fish. I will show you how to colour the fish next time when I have time. the most satisfied fish that I have done is the 鲳鱼, as shown below but it is not with me now because it is a custom made item. I am not sure I can still do that perfect fish again....

Miniature handmade tray

It will look nicer if you put all your miniature food on a tray. It is difficult to buy  a mini tray , so       know how to make your own tray is very important.
Ok, let's start now. What you need is a piece of basswood (or 飞机木) (you can buy it from artfriend) and some bamboo sticks ( I bought it from daiso long ago) If you cannot get the bamboo stick than use clay to make .

First, cut the size of tray you want.

Then cut the bamboo stick accordingly to the four sides and paste it

The four side of the tray on the left is made with clay.

Colour the tray and make use of the materials you have.

paste it on the surface of the tray firmly.

Place your favourite food and have a happy meal!
